Large Navy vessels

NORSAP SUPPLIES MARITIME CHAIRS FOR BRIDGE, COMMAND AND OPERATOR POSITIONS ON NAVAL VESSELS.

Norsap designs and manufactures maritime chairs for demanding naval environments, where the seating position must support the operator, the task and the vessel layout.

With more than 50 years of experience in lightweight aluminium construction and long experience as a supplier to navies worldwide, Norsap provides seating solutions for bridge, command and operator positions on larger naval vessels.

On large vessels, the chair is often part of a wider working position. Visibility, posture, control access, storage, deck rail movement and long-term durability all matter. Each configuration can be adapted to the vessel, the role and the operational requirements.

NORSAP DELIVERS LIGHTWEIGHT AND SPACE-EFFICIENT CHAIRS WITH CUSTOM SOLUTIONS

Submarine seating requires careful use of space. The chair must support the operator in a compact environment where movement, posture, access and installation depth are all limited by the vessel layout.

Norsap works with each project to adapt the seating solution to the available space, the operator role and the surrounding equipment. This can include modified frames, adjusted backrests, fire-retardant cushions and storage for operational equipment.

The goal is not to add unnecessary features, but to create a seating position that works reliably in a restricted and demanding environment.

Often used chairs on Submarines:

Available with storage for O2 masks and immersion suits, fire-retardant cushions, short backrests and modified chair frames for additional backrest functions.

NORSAP CHAIRS – WHEN PERFORMANCE MATTERS

High-speed naval boats expose the crew to greater levels of motion and impact. In these applications, seating is not only about comfort. The chair must help support the operator through acceleration, impact exposure and active vessel control.

Norsap provides seating solutions for high-speed and exposed vessel types, where requirements may include shock mitigation, a secure seated posture, compact installation, and equipment access.

The right solution depends on the vessel, speed profile, sea state exposure and the role of the user. For some positions, a shock-mitigating seat is the correct choice. For others, a more adjustable operator chair with integrated equipment may be more relevant.

Recommended chairs on Fast navy vessels:

Available with custom armrests or add-ons such as enclosures for controllers, keyboards and note tables, deck rails, and binocular storage.
